Following a difficult 18 months and facing issues with our current tenancy arrangements, it has become apparent that we can no longer grow and develop Bliss in the city store. Having started Bliss 14 years ago in this building, it is a big wrench for me, but I am also feeling excited about the future.
The web business www.bliss4women.com continues to grow, and we are looking forward to putting more time and resources into making it better, more interesting, more informative, and more varied. Please also visit and bookmark this page, my new blog, I'm not exactly sure how 'blogs' work but I hope you will all join in and we will extend the blog to a community forum shortly as well so we can encourage and grow a different form of Bliss community.
As many of you know, I write a weekly column in the Sunday Age (About Last Night). I have loved the past three years of writing, and plan to do more writing, public speaking, and teaching, once I have more flexibility.
We are already looking at ways we can offer other opportunities to shop in person, even if in a more limited way in the short term. Finding a really suitable premises may obviously take some time.
So – by Australia Day 2010, Bliss in Lonsdale St, Melbourne will have closed. Please drop in to see us one more time, and, perhaps, take advantage of our closing-down sale.

Thank you all so very much for your support over the past 14 years. I came to Bliss with an idea, even a dream, but with few resourses and not much more business experience. It has been a challenging and difficult journey, but it has taught me a lot, and my life is richer for it, and I will always have many fond memories of this funny little place. So many customers have extended trust, shared life experience and respected Bliss so much that at times it has been humbling.
I would like to mention all of the staff we have worked with through the last 14 years as well. I have become lifelong friends with many past staff and I have watched with joy as Bliss has exerted a positive influence and created opportunities that sometimes could not have existed prior to their 'tenure' at Bliss.
Finally, for those of you who follow such things, the omens are good for a Blissful future. We are experiencing a lunar eclipse, representing renewal, and the Chinese year of the Tiger is also predicted to bring new opportunities and renewed vigour.
